Garlic Cheese Bread

 From: https://www.tiktok.com/@dayanabakes/video/7571981917193506078

Ingredients:

  • A pack of Hawaiian rolls
  • 1/2 stick melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • Couple of shakes of Italian seasoning
  • Salt, to taste
  • Shredded cheese (you could do Mexican blend, Italian blend, Mozzarella, Cheddar...)

Melt the 1/2 stick of butter in a bowl.

Add the one tablespoon of minced garlic and stir until it thickens a bit.

Add the Italian seasoning and some salt (I think I added about 1 teaspoon of each) and mix those in.

Place the Hawaiian rolls in a greased baking dish (I used a 9x13). Cover them with the butter mixture.

Sprinkle the cheese of your choice on top (probably about 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup total).

Broil for 4-5 minutes or until all the cheese and butter mixture are melted. Sprinkle on extra parsley or other seasonings at the end if you want.

Verdict: Stephen and I loved this, both kids said it was good but VERY buttery. I think in the future I could probably do a little less butter and garlic and they would like it more.

Cheesy Garlic Rolls

Ingredients:
2 cups buttermilk baking mix (like Bisquick)
2/3 cup milk
1/2 cup shredded cheese (I use cheddar)
1/4 cup melted butter
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Combine Bisquick, milk and cheese until soft dough forms. Beat vigorously for 30 seconds. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 450 for 8-10 minutes. Combine butter and garlic. Brush on biscuits before removing from sheet.

What I did differently from recipe:
Nothing.

What I'll do differently next time:
Nothing.

Verdict:
Neutral. I used to make these all the time when we were first married and we loved them, but now they just taste kind of flat after using a bread machine. Don't get me wrong, the flavor is GREAT! But obviously, it's a quick bread - they don't rise or anything, so they're not fluffy. But if you cook them just right, they will still be soft. So if you need bread in an emergency for dinner, I would recommend these.
